Swimming with the Edmonton AquaMasters offers the opportunity to learn basic and advance current synchro skills, improve general swimming technique and fitness levels, and develop recreational and competitive routines. All swimmers are welcome to participate in the club; currently members range in age from 16 to over 65, with skill levels from recreational to over 20 years of synchro experience. We practice 1-2 days per week at Dr. Gerry Kelly Aquatics Centre in the McEwan University Downtown Campus and we compete in 1-3 competitions within the season. Each swimmer has the option to swim competitive or recreational so it’s up to you!
Masters Artistic Swimming (Synchronized Swimming) in Edmonton began in the mid 1980s with a group of 10 women training at the YMCA. The first major competition attended was the World Masters Games in Toronto in 1985. Over the years our numbers have blossomed, and Edmonton swimmers have had outstanding results with numerous medal winning performances at provincial, national and international competitions. Teams have competed at World Masters Games in Toronto, Denmark and Edmonton, and World Aquatic Masters Games in England, Montreal, Italy and San Francisco.
Competitions coming up every year!
